The Covid Safe Cave
Ireland has reopened its tourist attractions but only under strict guidelines from our governing body,
Failte Ireland to ensure the safety of visitors. It was a proud and happy day when we at Doolin Cave
received our Covid-19 Safety Charter Certificate which is available to view in our Visitor Centre here
on the Wild Atlantic Way. When you visit County Clare, we want you to enjoy your experience and
be reassured that your health and safety continues to be a top priority for us as you adventure
beneath the limestone karst landscape and make your way into the cathedral-like cavern to witness
one of the world’s longest free-hanging stalactites. Our hygiene practices span all aspects of your
visit here at Doolin Cave including sanitisation of the hard hats required to go underground, as well
as new procedures for when you enjoy a relaxing interlude in the Doolin Cave Café overlooking
Ballinalacken Castle and our farmland nature trail and landscaped grounds.
To reassure you, the staff will greet you using a face mask and social distancing. Clear signage has been introduced for ease of navigating our facility and sanitation stations have been provided for hand cleansing.
Pre-booking your visit ensures we can accommodate all guests in accordance with visitor
number restrictions and so you can get the most out of your visit to the Burren. All visitors aged 13
and over are required to wear face masks, but don’t worry, we do sell these at cost if you don’t have your own.
One of the things we’d love to see is our visitors sharing their socially-distanced experiences at
